This year, 2012-2013, is my sixth year teaching Spanish, and my eighth year as a teacher. I love to make all of my classes fun, creative and interactive. My hope is to incorporate the ways students learn best, such as: technology, music, movement, art, and even cooking! Some of my world language teacher influences and role-models are: Stephen Krashen, Blaine Ray and Carol Gaab. Second language acquisition has been my research emphasis in my Master’s at Regis University. Language acquisition is one of my priorities, along with developing deep character and learning about and honoring other cultures.
Though this is my first year teaching Physical Education, however, I have a background in athletics. I’ve played volleyball, softball, and ultimate frisbee at Varsity High School or college club levels. I’ve also coached several volleyball teams. I’m excited for the courses I’ll be teaching this school year!! I can’t wait to see inventions, and all the different ways that students will show what they know and what they’ve learned through the year.
